I praise you because my marriage exemplifies the gospel. I am sensible, pure, a worker at home, kind, subject to my own husband so that the Word of God will not be dishonored. I am chaste and respectful towards my husband – that is I am morally pure and exhibit deep admiration for him. Help me with this Lord. It does not come natural to me as a modern American woman.
The heart of my husband trusts in me and he will not lack anything good. He commits his ways to the Lord and his plans will be established. His ways are pleasing to the Lord. so that even his enemies are at peace with him. He does not forsake wisdom, and it preserves him. He loves wisdom, and it keeps him. He loves wisdom and it keeps him. He seeks wisdom as the principle thing and in all his getting, he gets understanding. He exalts wisdom and is promoted, and it brings him honor.
My husband is focused, his eyes looking straight ahead and his gaze fixed directly in front of him. He watches the path of his feet and all his ways are established in the Lord. Wisdom is always present with him to rescue him from a forbidden woman or a stranger with flattering lips. The Lord is his confidence and keeps his foot from a snare. He trusts in the Lord with all his heart and leans not on his own understanding. In all his ways he acknowledges the Lord and He directs his path.
The eyes of his understanding are enlightened – he knows the hope of his calling and the riches of his glorious inheritance. My husband was chosen by God to lead this family. He commands his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice so that the Lord may bring him all that was promised. He does not provoke his children to wrath, but brings them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
My husband is sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. He is strengthened with all power according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy. He is rooted and grounded in love. He is loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled He is watchful over our family and over his word. He excels in time management, money management, and relationship management. His identity and self-esteem come directly from Christ and his family. He is humble, honest, full of integrity and character.
I love him.
